How to use warm neutral paint colours in your home
The ‘Sweet Treats’ palette aims to challenge the perception that brown shades are outdated and unusable. Instead, browns provide delicious hues that will bring elegance and sophistication to any interior.
Ruth writes: “Gone are the associations of dated 1970s interiors, drab or dull spaces, browns are re-taking their rightful place in contemporary interiors. From the deep Chocolate Colour and sumptuous Muscovado, to the softer ochre-toned brown, Galette, or the elegant warm stone colour, Split Pink, these cosy, versatile neutrals are perfect for creating captivating, indulgent and inviting spaces.
This embracing of brown is a continuation of the trend we have seen shifting away from cooler grey interiors to a warmer palette of natural hues that deliver comforting, soothing schemes. Ruth writes: “Hallways set the mood, be that for the start of your day when you are leaving home, or when welcoming you and your guests into your home. They are a transitional space, often seen through open doorways or between other rooms. So, hallways are the perfect host for versatile, sophisticated and inviting tones that are easy to combine with a multitude of complementary colours and finishes.”
Consider Madeleine for your hallway scheme to provide a calm and comforting atmosphere that offers a warm welcome. This sophisticated, golden honey tone is gentle yet deliciously sweet. Its yellow base is grounded by a hint of brown, creating a contemporary alternative to more traditional cream tones.

Choose Split Pink for a cosy bedroom sanctuary
Your bedroom is a space where you can introduce indulgent colours that ooze comfort, tranquillity and cosiness. Layer these shades alongside comforting textures and patterns to create a restful feel.
Ruth suggests: “Elegant and earthy, Split Pink is a wonderfully warm pink hue that will add a homely and soothing feel to your bedroom scheme. For a cohesive and contemporary feel, avoid combining with harsh bright white on baseboards and woodwork. Instead, consider a colour drenching approach, or embrace darker tones and opt for a coordinated colour such as warm grey-brown Attic II or more dramatic deep blues and greens such as Obsidian Green or Dock Blue.”

Add impact to your kitchen with Muscovado
Ruth writes: “Once separate functional spaces, kitchens are often now open-plan family spaces that are central to a design scheme. It is therefore vital to consider the colour palette carefully, incorporating it into your wider design scheme to create a harmonious and considered home. As it is such an energetic space, the kitchen is a place you can really embrace bolder or deeper colours that may feel a little overwhelming in other rooms of the house.”

Use Mochi to provide a soft and gentle backdrop
One of the most versatile shades in the ‘Sweet Treats’ palette, Mochi is a gentle, muted warm tone. This colour acts as a neutral base for introducing artwork, accessories or bolder paint colours. It is perfect for many different areas of the home, but Ruth suggests using it to create a warm backdrop in your work-from-home space:
“Whether it is a separate study or simply a corner within another room, colour will have a profound impact on the atmosphere of a home office space. Whilst our work-from-home spaces need to be functional, they also need to reflect our personal taste to help keep us engaged and motivated. They should feel like a natural transition from the rest of the home. Mochi is gentle enough to allow for concentration without distraction, but has the depth to provide the perfect environment for inspiration and innovation.”
Consider pairing Mochi with the deeper brown, Scullery, on baseboards and doors, and the fresh, bright white, Shirting, on the ceiling. Or bring out its sweeter pink tones by pairing Mochi with other pinks, gentle greens or cool greys.

Create a sumptuous, all-over scheme with Ganache
As well as gentle neutrals and honey tones, the ‘Sweet Treats’ palette also contains sumptuous chocolate browns that bring indulgence, warmth and comfort to the home.
Ruth writes: "When used across all elements, chocolate brown shades can really envelop a space. These colours add impact and drama to a space as well as partnering beautifully with neutral hues and natural finishes for a tonal contrast. Use in a colour drenching scheme across walls, woodwork and the ceiling for a truly impactful, cosy finish.
With its enviable profundity, the new rich brown hue, Ganache, is likely to be the darkest shade in your scheme. Consider pairing it with the even darker Chocolate Colour or true black, Jack Black, for a deeply committed and effortlessly elegant interior design statement.”
